Astroworld Festival Victim’s Family Turns Down Travis Scott’s Offer To Take Care Of Their 9-Year-Old Child’s Funeral

Daniel M. Petrocelli, an attorney representing Travis Scott, sent a letter dated November 24 to both Crump and Bob Hilliard, who are representing the Blount family, to offer their deepest condolences. The letters were provided to CNN by Hilliard. CNN has reached out to Petrocelli and Scott’s team for comment, but did not receive a response.
Scott said in a statement after the Astroworld event that he was “devastated” about what happened.

Ezra was in Houston to meet “his favorite artist” and attend a concert with his father Treston Blount, his grandfather Bernon Blount said. Bernon Blount said: “When my son went to the concert, he had my nephew on his shoulder.

Petrocelli’s letter went on to say that Scott was “devastated” by the tragedy and also “grieves for the families whose loved ones have died or been injured.”
“Travis is keen on personal contact, but does not want to invade Mr. Blount’s privacy during his time of grief,” Petrocelli’s letter read. “Travis is committed to doing its part to help families in need and start a lasting healing process in the Houston community. The letter concluded by saying that the offer would have “no effect” on any litigation in which the family may be involved.

The lawsuit, filed earlier that week, names defendants including Apple Music, Scott, rapper Drake and Live Nation, accusing them of negligence and making “an exorbitant amount of money” from the event. but chose to “cut corners, cut costs and put festival-goers at risk.”
CNN reached out to the defendants but did not receive an immediate response.
