Audi Q5 recalled | CarExpert
Audi is recalling more than 18,000 examples of Q5 because the operation of the engine, transmission and steering system can be affected by humidity.
The company said in the recall notice: “Faulty central electronic control data network management unit increases the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and people around”.
“Due to its mounting position, if there is liquid or liquid spill on the back seat, the network management controller may be damaged and become inoperable.
“Defects in the electronic control unit can affect vehicle functions. Restricted functions are indicated by warning messages in the instrument cluster. ”
This can cause the following problems:
- Engine may enter emergency run mode and run at reduced efficiency
- Automatic transmission can interrupt the flow of electricity in the powertrain
- The steering may lose support in stages
If you have an affected Q5, you will need to organize a free inspection and repair at an Audi dealer.
