Tank has figured out what Bill’s game is, using him for clout-chasing purposes, talking about his fake $20 million offer to help increase the popularity of his son, Devin.
Bill Haney name-dropping
Gervonta had already told Bill that if he was serious about wanting his son to fight him, he needed to contact his manager, Al Haymon, rather than talk on social media.
He obviously hasn’t done that, so his name-dropping has to be viewed as him trying a pathetic sales tactic to increase Haney’s popularity without him fighting. Name-dropping works; naive fans buy into it without checking things out.
Bill wouldn’t have to stoop to the level of using Tank Davis’ name for clout-chasing purposes if Devin would take some risks by facing these fighters:
Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis
Shakur Stevenson
Teofimo Lopez
Subriel Matias
David Benavidez
David Morrell
Janibek Alimkhanuly
This writer threw in some 160 & 168-pounders to the list, given that Haney rehydrated to 165 lbs for his fight against WBC 140-lb champion Regis Prograis, which makes him a super middleweight, not a light welterweight.
The reports of Haney’s 50K PPV buys on DAZN for his fight against Regis Prograis on the December 9th event that he can’t sell, and there’s no one promoter that would be crazy enough to throw $20 million at Tank Davis to fight someone with poor numbers like that.
“Y’all guys stop tagging Tank because he got me blocked. So stop tagging him, don’t tag him,” said Bill Haney on social media today, complaining about Gervonta Davis blocking him on Instagram for using his name for clout-chasing purposes by talking about a $20 million offer for him to face his son, Devin Haney.
“Tag the ‘Face of Boxing,’ Devin Haney. Yeah, he blocked me. How is he going to block me when I’m part of the promotion and promoting the fight. I’m saying everybody should tag him to say the same thing that you’re doing there.
“How is he going to block a guy when I’m bringing in. Yeah, he blocked me after $20 million. I mention $20 million and then get blocked. You know what time it is,’ said Bill Haney, complaining about being blocked for sending fake offers to increase Devin’s popularity.
