Bob Arum says Fury Vs. Usyk may be announced next week
Via Sam Volz: Bob Arum says he believes he could have an announcement next week for the undisputed clash between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
Arum claims that the Fury-Usyk match could take place in the Middle East or possibly at Wembley Stadium in front of more than 90,000 fans in London.
Top Rated promoter Arum believes IBF, WBA & WBO heavyweight champion Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) is the only boxer in the division who can deliver WBC champion Fury (33- 0-1, 24 KO) a chance. money.
Some might say Joe Joyce, improved Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua could give Fury big problems beyond Usyk. If Usyk doesn’t beat Fury, you have to give the next player, Joyce (15-0, 14 KOs), a chance to deal with him.
“It was a pretty one-sided fight, but it’s hard to imagine a heavyweight that could compete with Tyson Fury,” Bob Arum told. fight TV centerreflects Fury’s win over Derek Chisora last Saturday in the UK.
“I think of them, Usyk has the best chance. Usyk is a very good friend of mine. I don’t appreciate him, but I’ve always been friendly with him.
“He is a friend of Lomachenko, and I know I know him very, very well. I think he has the ability to fight Tyson Fury well because he’s so brave, and he’s a great fighter,” Arum said.
There will be a lot of excitement next week if Fury vs Usyk is announced as fans are eager to see this fight.
“I think both fighters wanted to fight, and it was a step in the right direction,” Arum said when asked how close he was to a Usyk vs. Fury to what extent. “We do not receive offers from all over the world and hopefully next week we will be able to make an announcement.
“It could be in the Middle East; it could be at Wembley [Stadium] before 95.00 people. Right now, Britons support boxing more than anywhere else in the world. We made 60,000 for Fury’s fight with Chisora, which was sold out.
“You are only allowed to put 60,000 in the stadium. When he [Fury] fought my previous war [against Dillian Whyte]it’s in another municipality and they let us do 95,000 [at Wembley Stadium in London], and we’ve sold out of seats. So there’s nothing like British fighting fans,” Arum said.
