Deontay Wilder says Tyson Fury “will have to retire” due to “everything” going on
Via Charles Brun: Deontay Wilder said Tyson Fury has something going on that forces him to retire from the sport. Wilder says he doesn’t want to reveal what’s going on with Fury’s life that is demanding his departure from the sport, but with the way he talks, the ‘Gypsy King’ has done something wrong .
It’s up to fans to speculate what the problem with Fury was that forced him to retire, but it must be something serious for him to leave at this point with big money fights against Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk.
Wilder said that once Fury fully retires, a lot will be worked out. It will create an opportunity for Deontay and many other heavyweights that might have struggled with the 6’9″ Fury’s size and offensive tactics.
“YES, I think he will have to retire,” Deontay Wilder said to Fighthype when asked if Tyson Fury will retire. “I mean, he’s going to have to retire.
“Yes, a lot is going on,” Deontay said when asked if Fury would retire due to legal issues. “I won’t even participate in itbut it looks like he will have to. “
Too bad Deontay didn’t want to give any hints about the problems Fury had that caused him to retire, as there were plenty of boxing fans who wanted to know what he did wrong.
Obviously, British fans will take Fury’s retirement very seriously because they love him. For American fans, they will be less annoyed because Fury’s style is not as entertaining as fighters like Usyk, Joshua, Joe Joyce and Daniel Dubois.
Furthermore, the constant talk of Fury’s retirement has grown tiresome, and he has confused Derek Chisora around by giving him hope for a fight.
“Once that happens, everything is ready to go. I can’t give too much information,” Wilder said of Fury’s retirement. “I don’t really want to discuss it. There will be a lot of changes in division, opportunities and lots of different things. Keep stable.
“I will join Usyk in this fight [with Anthony Joshua]. I said that after that fight. I stand by my word in this fight,” Wilder said.
