The body of a kidnapped Pakistani-American woman was found from Lakki Marwat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan on Saturday.
Wajiha Swati arrived in Pakistan from the UK on October 16 to settle property issues with her ex-husband, Rizwan Habib. He “confessed to killing” Swati during police interrogation, Geo News reported.

The US woman was murdered the same day she arrived in Rawalpindi, they added.
A case related to her abduction has been registered at the Morgah Police Station in Rawalpindi following a complaint filed by her son.
According to sources, Habib said that he killed Swati on October 16 and buried her body in Hangu.
On December 23, Judge Raja Shahid Mehmood Abbasi of the High Court Lahore Rawalpindi Bench ordered the municipal police (CPO) to reinstate Swati as soon as possible or the court would summon the Inspector General of Police. Geo News reported, the court ordered the police to present her in court after recovering.
Rawalpindi City Police Sajid Kiani, speaking at a press conference, said that the incident is under investigation and police will not release too many details at this time, Geo News reported.
Kiyani has revealed several aspects that came to light during the investigation, such as Swati arriving in Pakistan on October 16 and being taken over by her ex-husband, Rizwan Habib.
He went on to say that three people – Habib, his father and another suspect – were arrested in connection with the case, Geo News reported.
The CPO says that Wajiha’s body was found from the Pizu area of Lakki Marwat and it is being brought to Islamabad.
He said that further investigations are underway and further arrests are expected to be made.
The case bears an uncanny resemblance to the murder of Noor Mukadam, the daughter of former Pakistani diplomat Shaukat Mukadam, who was found murdered at a private residence in Islamabad on July 20.
A first information report (FIR) was registered later the same day against Zahir Jaffer, who was arrested from the scene of the murder, under Section 302 (intentional murder) of the Penal Code. Pakistan on the complaint of the victim’s father.
The murder and its gruesome nature caused strong condemnation and public outrage in Pakistan, and there were many calls for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
