Boxing results: Brandon “Cannon” Adams & Dakota “Lone Wolf” Linger win!
At Overtime Elite Arena, Atlanta, Georgia, Friday, in front of DAZN promoter Brandon Rhodes (OTX – Overtime Boxing) presented in the Welterweight Main Event Kurt Scoby looking upset after being stopped by Dakota “Lone Wolf” Linger again in the sixth inning.
In his return to the co-main event after three years, former WBC Continental Super Welterweight champion Brandon “Cannon” Adams submitted Ismael Villarreal on the OTX tournament in three rounds.
In the co-main event, former WBC Continental Americas super welterweight champion Brandon “Cannon” Adams, 24-3 (16), #153 ½, of Whittier, CA, knocked out Ismael “Maelo” Villarreal, 13-3 (9), #154, of The Bronx, NY, at 2:59 of the third of a scheduled 10 rounds.
In the first two rounds, Adams had the advantage over Villarreal, who switched from an orthodox to a southpaw style of play. In the third round, the final seconds, Adams landed a vicious left hook to Villarreal's ribs, knocking him out. He twice tried to get up and fell to the canvas before referee Nate Mann finally waved him off.
In the Main Event Welterweight Kurt Scoby, 13-1 (11), #, of Duarte, CA, was upset by Dakota “Lone Wolf” Linger, 14-6-3 (10), #144 ½, in Buckhannon stopped, WV, at 2:21 of the sixth inning of an eight-round schedule.
After losing a close first round, Linger bounced back, outpointing Scoby in the second and third rounds. In the final minute of round 4, Linger knocked Scoby down before the bell.
In the final seconds of the sixth round, Linger left Scoby defenseless as referee Malik Waleed waved it off.
Angel “Relampago” Ruiz, 18-3-1 (13), #154, of Culiacan, MEX, lost by decision to 2020 Olympian and WBA Continental Americas middleweight champion Francisco “Bebu” Veron, 14-0 -1 ( 10), #154, in Buenos Aires, ARG, over 10 rounds.
In the first round after one minute, Veron threw 5 unanswered punches. Veron is the aggressor and Ruiz is the counter puncher.
In the final seconds of the second round, Ruiz was held down by Veron. In the third round, Veron suffered a lot of swelling around both eyes after right hooks from Ruiz's right hand but still knocked Ruiz down.
In the fifth round, Veron defeated Ruiz in an action-packed bout. In the sixth round, with just a minute left, Ruiz rocked Veron with a left to the chin. In the seventh round with a minute left, Veron knocked Ruiz's head off with a right to the chin. Ruiz came back well but not enough to go another round.
In the eighth and ninth rounds, Veron continued to knock out Ruiz's puncher. In round 10 and the final round, both had moments where Veron had the advantage. Veron had severe swelling in both eyes and Ruiz in the right eye.

Two-time national amateur super lightweight men's champion David “Dynamite” Lopez, 5-0 (3), #140, in Oakland, CA, defeated Anthony “Toro Rojo” Mora, 3-2-1 (2), #141 ¼, of New Britain, CT, at 2:38 of the first of six scheduled rounds.
With half a minute left in the first round, a straight left from Lopez's southpaw to Mora's chin sent him over the ring apron ropes and was counted out by referee Nate Mann.
23-time national amateur champion, 19-year-old super middleweight Nathan 'Brickbuster' Lugo, 1-0 (1), #168 ½, of Marietta, GA, defeats Robert 'Lights Out' Lartigue, 1-2 ( 1 ), #166 ¾, in San Diego, CA, at 1:33 of the first of four scheduled rounds.
Twenty seconds into the first round, Lugo dropped Lartigue with a right to the chin that resulted in an 8 count from referee Malik Waleed. Halfway through the round, Lugo was decapitated from the right and again counted by referee Waleed.
