Super Featherweight Moussa Gholam of Morroco and Spain stopped Lunga Sitemela at 1:23 of the fourth round on Saturday night in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
In the main event, super Featherweight Moussa Gholam, 21-1 (13), defeated “Baby” Lunga Sitemela, 15-2 (9) at 1:23 of the fourth round of a scheduled ten rounds.
In the first round, Sitemela was the aggressor. Halfway through the round, Gholam landed a flurry of punches on the chin of Sitemela. Sitemela came back well in the remainder of the round.
In the second round’s final forty seconds, Gholam landed three chopping rights, knocking out the mouthpiece of Sitemela. In the final seconds, Sitemela rocked Gholam on the chin as the bell sounded, causing him to stagger back to his corner.
There was swelling around Gholam’s right eye in the corner.
In the fourth round, Gholam landed a left to the ribs, dropping Sitemela as referee David Irving issued the 8-count. Upon rising, referee Irving waved it off.
Lightweight Bader “The Master” Samreen, 10-0 (8), won a majority decision over Jeff “Jeffy” Ofori, 13-5-2 (4), over ten solid rounds.
In the third round, a left to the nose from Samreen drew blood from Ofori. In the fourth round, Ofori came back well enough to take the round.
In the sixth round, the blood from Ofori started flowing again from Samreen rights. In the eighth round there was swelling under the right eye of Samreen.
In the ninth round’s final minute, both landed rights with Ofori’s harder. In the final twenty seconds, a left hook from Samreen on the chin almost dropped Ofori.
In the tenth and final round, both had their moments, with Ofori ending it with a left hook to the chin.
The scores were 95-95 and 96-94 twice. The referee was David Irving.
In the co-main event, lightweight Fahad Al-Bloushi, 13-1 (3), stopped Milner Antonio Marcano, 24-13 (20), after six rounds of a scheduled ten rounds.
In the first four rounds, Marcano, the aggressor as Al-Bloushi, countered to the body, taking all three rounds.
In the sixth round, Al-Bloushi dropped Marcano, who had turned southpaw with a left hook to the ribs for an 8-count. Marcano fought back the rest of the way. At the end of the round, Marcano’s corner stopped the fight.
Heavyweight southpaw Mohammed “The Destroyer” Bekdash, 27-0 (23), won a close decision over Shaban “Jongo Jongo” Hamadi Jongo, 11-4-2 (10) over eight rounds.
In the first three rounds, Bekdash had the edge. In the fifth round, Jongo landed rights to the head had Bekdash’s left eye swelling bad.
At the end of the round, the ring physician checked the eye. In the sixth round, overhand rights from Jongo won him the round.
In the eighth and final round, with a little over a minute remaining, Bekdash rocked Jongo with a counter left on the chin.
The scores were 78-74 and 77-75 twice.
