Breeders’ Cup Weekend Ready To Take Off!
LEXINGTON, KY – Driven by a sense of invincibility Flight route (Tapit), the 39th Breeders’ Cup World Championship – which includes 14 races with wallets and prizes totaling more than $31 million – returns to Keeneland for the third time with two dates starting on Friday.
Sunny skies and mid-70s temperatures – could it get any better? –Looking forward to the show ‘Friday of Future Stars’. Stone cave (Arrogate) will put his undefeated mark on the line for Bob Baffert at Juvenile while Chocolate Gelato (Realistic jokes) headlined a broad innovation to Juvenile Lands. There will also be a trio of Breeders’ Cup grass races for 2-year-olds with European invader Godolphin Silver Knott (GB) (Lope de Vega {Ire}) took the lead in the outstanding youth pitch.
Some of the top storylines for Saturday’s full stacking show – now with a 40% chance of afternoon showers in the forecast – include: Flightline’s quest for glory in the movie Classic Worth 6 million dollars; confrontation between stable friends trained by Todd Pletcher Malathaat (Curlin) and Nest (Curlin) in Distaff; War Like Goddess (English Channel) take on the boys in the Lawn; unexpected return of talent Domestic spending (GB) (King {GB}) was laid off for 14 months at the Mile; and Golden Pal (Uncle Mo) shot to win third at the Championships in the Turf Sprint.
Breeders’ Cup will be televised live domestically on NBC, Peacock, USA Network and FanDuel TV.
