Half-brothers to this season’s Classic heroes Desert Crown (GB) and Cachet (Ire) top the list of elite aspirants heading for Book 1 of the October Tattersalls Annual Sale. .
With 549 lots cataloged over three days, ties to recent Group 1 winners Perfect Power (Ire), Alcohol Free (Ire) and Inspiral (GB), along with participating siblings Winner of the Golden Whistle of the Year 2015 (GB), Classic brothers win Magna Grecia (Ire) and St Mark’s Basilica (Fr), Arc Waldgeist (GB) winner, and Battaash (Ire) sprint sensation.
The half-brother to the Derby winner, the Desert Crown comes from the first batch of the Lanwades Study Of Man (Ire) male and will be provided by Strawberry Fields Stud breeder Gary Robinson. Similarly, breeder John Bourke of Hyde Park Stud signed a Cotai Glory (GB) half-brother for 1,000 Guineas Cachet winners.
Tattersalls President Edmond Mahony said: “Even by its usual lofty standards, the catalog for Book 1 in the October Tattersalls 2022 Sale looks very special.
This year’s October 1 book features half-siblings or half-brothers with more than 60 Group 1 and Classic winners and more than a third of the 549 dog years included in the category are of the top 10 European males today.”
