Comedian and Bust Down Co-creator Jak Knight dies at 28
The world of comedy has lost a shining star.
Jak Knightco-creator of Peacock’s Bust Down and a stand-up comedian, passed away in Los Angeles on July 14, his family said in a statement to NBC News. He is 28 years old.
A cause of death was not released and in their statement, Knight’s loved ones asked that “their privacy is kindly respected during this extremely difficult time.”
Throughout his career, Knight has earned many credits in both writing and acting. He’s not only co-creator Bust Downbut he also starred in the series with Chris Redd, Sam Jay and Langston Kerman. Additionally, the Devon voiceover comic on Netflix’s Big mouthas well as serving as a screenwriter for five seasons of the animated show.
As a writer, he has worked on Lucas Bros Moving Co., Black-ish and Compass immoral.
Back in 2018, Knight reflected on his involvement with Big mouth. “Being a writer is amazing,” he said in an interview with RESPECT. Magazine“and just being in a room with some of the coolest people alive and I can sit across from people like Jordan Peele and Maya Rudolph it’s surreal but it’s a lot of work, work. “
