Crawford's got a chip on his shoulder playing the victim card
Terence Crawford took to social media today, looking like he has a chip on his shoulder saying people “hate to see” him at the top.
Mysterious blocker
Crawford (40-0, 31 KO) added that people “tried to block” him, but he still came out on top. In fact, Crawford is unencumbered from competing for multiple world titles in three divisions, and he is now ready to fight for a fourth division world title against WBA junior middleweight champion Israil Madrimov on August 3 at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. No one stopped you, Crawford.
You've fought for world titles in every division you've been in and now you're winning back-to-back titles at number 154 without having to compete in the division for it.
Fans noted that Crawford did not want any fight with Jaron 'Boots' Ennis, and they considered it a weak move on his part to leave the 147 lb division to move up to 154 without a fight with young phenom. Is it asking too much for Crawford to stay long enough at 147 to fight Boots?
Former three-division world champion Crawford challenges WBA junior middleweight champion Israil Madrimov in his first bout on August 3 at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.
“I'm hunting😤 They hate to see me at the top. They tried to block me from every angle but I still came out ahead. #CrawfordEra,” said Terence Crawford above X.
Crawford seemed paranoid with the way he spoke. He's unblocked, and there's no hate involved in finding him temporarily at the top of any weight class in which he fights.
Catch and release champion
Terence has a habit of catching and releasing world titles and then not sticking around to defend them for long. So when he wins, he's only on top for a short time and it's hard to tell if he's the best because he's not defending them.
For example, Crawford failed to defend his undisputed claim at 147 against young hitman Boots Ennis. So can you really say he comes out on top? It's like that.
Beating weak champions in three weight divisions and then giving up the belts before any of the killers had a chance to fight for them was a bad move for Crawford.
