Big Ant Studios and Nacon today confirmed Cricket 24 will launch in June on PC and consoles, in time for the 2023 Ashes Series. The exception is the Switch version, which will launch in November 2023.
Cricket 24 is being advertised as having “more licenses than any cricket game has ever had”. Major cricket nations including Australia, Great Britain, West Indies, New Zealand and Ireland will be included, with more clearly to be announced. Cricket 24 will also feature The Ashes, BBL and WBBL, The Hundred, Caribbean Premier League and an unspecified number of “Indian professional T20 teams” that have yet to be announced. There will be more than 50 official stadiums.

Cricket 24 promises to improve Ashes’ atmosphere, with Ashes’ press conferences and Ashes’ own commentary accompanying the matches. The all-new protection has been described as a “complete overhaul” of the existing system. A new mode called Pro Team will let players build their dream cricket team of global superstars to compete in challenges and play online, and appear inspired by EA’s success with FIFA Ultimate Team. Cricket 24 will support cross-player, and those purchasing the PS4 or Xbox One version will be able to upgrade to the current-gen version if and when needed.
Big Ant CEO Ross Symons said in a statement: “Our fans expressed passion and excitement at the prospect of another game being released before the upcoming Ashes launch. . “We’ve worked incredibly hard with cricket boards around the world to deliver the most in-depth, most realistic video game depiction of the sport ever.”
No clips or screenshots of the game were released with the announcement.
