The Commission on Air Quality Management (CAQM) said that six thermal power plants that had been closed have been allowed to resume operations due to increased electricity demand due to extreme winter conditions like today.
Thermal power plants have been recommended to run at minimum requirements.
The entry of trucks into Delhi will remain restricted, with the exception of CNG/electric trucks and those carrying essential goods.
The Commission will lift eight-hour operating time restrictions on dairy and dairy processing units and industries as well as life-saving drug, drug, and medical device-related processes. They will be allowed to operate around the clock.
Time restrictions will also be lifted for pulp and paper processing, distilleries, thermal power plants, and paddy/rice processing-related industries. However, it will only be lifted for five days a week for these industries. They will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
The crews were constantly monitoring to ensure the implementation of anti-pollution norms, the commission told the court. The enforcement task force has issued closure notices for 40 sites so far for non-compliance, it added.
