Isuzu Ute Australia revealed update D-Max brings a host of aesthetic and equipment improvements for the 2023 model year.

New Variations

The Isuzu D-Max 2023 lineup will now include 27 different variants, with the addition of three new SX Crew Cab models featuring a smaller 110kW/350Nm 1.9-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel with an automatic transmission. standard six-speed drive.

Isuzu says the move to introduce these new variants is driven by the positive reception of the 1.9-liter D-Max from customers and the media thanks to its “fuel-saving and flexible” characteristics. .

That brings the number of 1.9-liter D-Max variants to five, now far more than Mazda’s three powerful versions BT-50 models with 1.9 liter diesel engines, all with automatic transmission only. Obviously, the 3.0-liter engine is still the main engine.

External design

All versions of the D-Max receive a number of aesthetic enhancements for the five new models, including a new version of the brand’s signature crossbar grille.

The design has been “molded to meet the stiff creases on the bonnet and chiseled front rack”, and finished in two-tone black on the SX, two-tone black and gray on the LS-M, two-tone gray and chrome on the LS-U and LS-U+, and dark gray on the flagship X-Terrain.

Models with LED fog lights get new surrounds in dark gray metal, while the LED taillights also get dark gray metallic accents – replacing the old model’s chrome trim.

New alloy wheel designs also appear on the D-Max LS-M and above, with sizes ranging from 17 to 18 inches. The LS-U, LS-U+ and X-Terrain models also get tire pressure monitoring as standard for the MY23.

New colors

Three new exterior finishes join the palette, including Granite Gray, exclusive to the D-Max X-Terrain.

Mica Neptune Blue is now available on all D-Max variants, while the new Neptune White Pearl is offered on the LS-U, LS-U+ and X-Terrain models.

These new finishes combine mineral white, basalt black mica, Obsidian gray mica, Mercury silver metal, magnetic red mica, and volcanic amber metal (X-Terrain only).

All but Mineral White incur a $650 premium.

Interior design

Inside, the brand introduced new upholstery fabrics and decorations depending on the variant.

The LS-M and LS-U are wrapped in new premium fabric, while the LS-U+ and X-Terrain are wrapped in prominent leather. As before, the X-Terrain features signature red stitching.

SX Crew Cab models (Cab Chassis and Ute) also receive an additional 2.1A USB charging port in the second row to accommodate higher-end models, which Isuzu says is in response to the ” many families turn to utes as the default multi-purpose family vehicle.”

Functional improvements

Isuzu claims to have simplified the towing process, with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert that automatically deactivates when the trailer is towed and detected via an original belt attachment.

The brand adds that this new development will “improve functionality and user experience” when towing.

All older D-Max variants now also have Rear Door Assist; air strut-assisted tailgate mechanism allowing for one-handed operation depending on the brand.

Valuation

The improved Isuzu D-Max 2023 series will be sold from december. The RRP for the 2023 range remains the same as the MY22, except for the new, natural SX Crew Cab variants.

Isuzu Ute Australia is also offering a nationwide drive-in price for the entry-level SX Single Cab Chassis 4×2 manual with Eco Alloy Tray ($31,990), as well as the flagship X-Terrain 4×4 ( $64,990). This represents thousands of savings.
