Disrespectful Dr. Launches New AAA Studio With Call Of Duty, Halo Veterans
Herschel “Guy” Beahm IV, known to many as Dr. Dispect, has launched an “AAA game studio” with former Call of Duty and Halo developers.
Beahm is one of the more famous streamers out there, be it the number of audiences he attracts while streaming or public ban from Twitch after streaming inside the bathroom E3. He’ll still be streaming, but he’s currently making the jump into the game development arena of video games through his new studio Midnight Society.
“We flipped the board on the traditional video game development model and embraced the ‘Day Zero Community’, Midnight Society Website read. “That means including our players – yes, you – from the very beginning. That could be testing reload time and recoil on a firing range or engaging in early PVP sessions. No more ‘I hope this match is good.’ Be there when your voice can really make an impact because we want to hear it. Really.”
As for what to expect from Midnight Society, the studio has no official announcement for a game. However, all signs point to a multiplayer shooter. Be it the involvement of Beahm, a former Call of Duty and Halo developer, mentioning “reload times and recoil in firing range” or a job listing description urging employees to be able to “step up” up, start, and begin to define the next best thing to a competitive multiplayer experience, period,” it looks like the first Midnight Society game will be a shooter.
The website also features a number of images – seen above – that may hint at the team’s first game. It could be concept art, but it also might not have anything to do with whatever Midnight Society was developing. We will see some time in the future.
