Dune 2: Florence Pugh said to be in talks to play Princess Irulan Corrino
Florence Pugh is said to be in talks to star in part two of filmmaker Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic Dune.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Black Widow star is being noticed for her role as Princess Irulan Corrino, the key character in Frank Herbert’s classic novel “Dune”.
If finalized, the sequel would reunite Pugh with actor Timothée Chalamet, who starred Paul Atreides in Sand dunes. The two stars previously worked together on Greta Gerwig’s hit 2019 Little Women.
Dune, released in October 2021, continues the story of Paul Atreides, a talented and brilliant young man, born into a wonderful fate beyond his comprehension, who must travel. to the most dangerous planet in the universe to secure the future of his family and his people.
Part two of Dune is expected to begin production later this year and has a release date of October 20, 2023.
The sequel will also bring back the original cast, including Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, and Javier Bardem. Pugh most recently reprized her role as Yelena Belova in the Marvel series Hawk Eye.
