Edgar Berlanga is ready for Steve Rolls on March 19
Supermiddleweight contender Edgar “The Chosen One” Berlanga went the distance twice last year after 16 first-round stops to kickstart his pro career. Here’s what Berlanga had to say at his Las Vegas training camp.
“I think 2022 is going to be a big year for me, and I can’t wait to kick it off with my first major event in New York. I learned a lot from my last game, and I worked really hard to correct my mistakes. After the surgery, I chose to rehab in Las Vegas so that I could not only do physical therapy with the best team in the business, but also focus 100% on boxing. Fans will be seeing big things from me this year starting March 19.”
“Having my first main event at home is amazing. I’m ready to show everyone what I’m made of. I want people to see that I can sell out an arena. I don’t have to have a title or a big competitor to sell tickets. I have a fan base and you’ll see that on March 19.”
“I am proud to represent New York City and Puerto Rico. I want to be Puerto Rico’s next great champion. My first memory of boxing is watching Tito Trinidad fight as a kid, and I wanted to give the people of Puerto Rico someone they can be proud of.”
