Petrol and diesel prices today: Fuel prices were unchanged on Sunday in cities on December 5. Gasoline prices in Delhi were unchanged at Rs 95.41 per liter, three days after Delhi government reduced value added tax ( VAT) for this item from 30% to 19.4%, resulting in a reduction of Rs 8 per liter. Diesel prices in the national capital though remained stable at Rs 86.67 per liter.
Meanwhile, petrol and diesel prices in other major cities have remained the same as of November 4, when the Center reduced the excise tax on petrol and diesel by Rs 5 and 10 per liter respectively. .
In Mumbai, petrol retails for Rs 109.98 per liter, while diesel is sold for Rs 94.14 per liter. Among metro cities, fuel prices are still the highest in Mumbai. Rates vary from state to state due to VAT. (Also Read: How to check the latest gas and diesel rates in your city).

State-run refiners such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum will adjust fuel prices on a daily basis, taking into account international crude oil prices and the US dollar exchange rate. Any changes in petrol and diesel prices will be made from 6:00 a.m. daily.
