George Kambosos to Teofimo Lopez: “Stop being shy”
Via Jim Calfa: George Kambosos Jr took to social media to tell Teofimo Lopez “Stop is ab ***” with the way he was bragging about how injured he was before and during the loss against him last November.
Kambosos said that Teofimo looked “Great” before the fight and when sending him to the ICU afterwards. As far as Kambosos is concerned, Teofimo should accept his loss “like a man” and stop making excuses.
Former unified lightweight champion Teofimo (16-1, 12 KOs) looked like he was about to cry as he told Mark Kriegel about how he battled injury in a decisive round 12 loss to Kambosos. First, Teofimo added that he thinks he deserves to win, not Kambosos.
The only thing missing is the violin music while Teo moans about his heroic act.
Teofimo will fight next month on August 13 on ESPN against little-known adventurer Pedro Campa (34-1-1, 23 KOs) at Resorts World Las Vegas, Las Vegas.
Mark Kriegel: You battled Kambosos with a condition called Pneumomediastinum, [which is] air in your chest cavity and neck. The doctor said you are lucky to be alive.”
I looked great an hour before I beat you and sent you to the ICU. Think of it as a Cat man instead of 1500 excuses. No excuses from me when Haney hit me, treat it like a man and retaliate and don’t be an asshole! 🤫 P.S. Good luck in the next few weeks to the man on your journey 🤭👊🏻 https://t.co/clp63ka2xV pic.twitter.com/9NzImebzQG

Teofimo Lopez: “Of course I am. Every doctor who sees my report says, ‘How the hell are you alive?’
Kriegel: “Should your son be in the ring?”
Lopez Sr: “No. At all.”
Kriegel: “It could be because your esophagus is torn while you’re rehydrating.”
Teofimo Jr: “I was drinking water, and a few minutes later, my voice changed. So I started touching my neck. Next thing I know, it’s so swollen you can tell something’s up.”
Lopez Sr: “I told him, ‘Go to the ER and get it checked. He decided not to do it.”
Teofimo Jr: “The problem is the amount of delay, the amount of pressure.”
Kriegel: “You put your life in jeopardy when you step into the ring.”
Teofimo Jr: “Yes, I made a choice.”
Kriegel: “Is it your coach’s choice or your coach’s choice?”
Teofimo Jr: “If the fighter is going to fight, then the fighter will fight. That’s the decision.”
Lopez Sr: “I should never have let him fight. I should have more control over the situation. I let others dictate things that shouldn’t have happened.”
Kriegel: “It’s not your responsibility to say, ‘We’re not fighting.’
Lopez Sr: “I told him. I told him even during the fight”.
Kriegel: “But isn’t it your responsibility to get over him?”
Lopez Sr: “He would never talk to me.”
Teofimo Jr: “So by the seventh round, I looked up to the lights and I just said to God, ‘I need your help here because I’m about to do something I wasn’t built to do. , and that was left unfinished. . ‘ Three rounds later, I put that little cock on his knee . “
Kriegel: “Was it a mistake to fight?”
Teofimo Lopez: “It was the best choice I ever made in my life.”
Kriegel: “You’re almost dead.”
Teofimo Jr: “Good. I need that. “
Kriegel: “You need to almost die?”
Teofimo Jr: “To realize how dark and bad people are because I won that war no matter what. The referee thought so. He raised my hand before they called Kambosos. As a fighter, you must defeat the champion. He didn’t do enough to beat the champion.”
Kriegel: “So who hit you?”
Teofimo Lopez: “The only person who can beat me is me, and that’s it. This is my sport. I have something that other fighters don’t have. That IT factor, and that’s why God has blessed me to come back and do what I do best; entertainment.'”
