Via Craig Page: Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis Will Defend His Second WBA Lightweight Title In A Tuning Fight Against Super Featherweight Hector Luis Garcia on January 7 on SHOWTIME in Washington, DC.

Although Hector Luis Garcia is 5’9″ tall and maneuvers at 130 lb, he is HUGE for the division and 5’5″ tank taller than Davis. Fighting at super featherweight has given Garcia an edge over his smaller opponent, and he will be significantly larger than Tank.
Garcia is a six-year professional from the Dominican Republic. Although Hector has Olympic pedigree, he wasn’t well known in the United States until he beat Colbert by unanimous decision in the 12th inning last February. Garcia is so much better than Colbert and makes him look bad.
Tank’s management at PBC and Mayweather Promotions might be wrong to compare him to Hector Garcia because this guy has a knack for exposing many of the flaws in his game.
