Gwyneth Paltrow Wins Utah Ski Crash Test and Is Granted $1 in Damages
Gwyneth PaltrowThe civil trial for a 2016 skiing accident has ended.
A jury in Park City, Utah found a retired ophthalmologist Terry Sanderson 100 percent error in the collision and said he caused damage to the Oscar winner. The jury found Paltrow not at fault and awarded her $1 of the requested damages.
After the verdict was read, Paltrow was seen bending over to speak to Sanderson but did not make a public statement.
The decision of March 30 was made after more than a week of listening to debate about whether Paltrow or Sanderson was harmed in the ski collision and whether either party, both or not, was to blame for negligence.
Sanderson is seeking more than $300,000 and has accused Paltrow of stabbing him in the back while skiing at the Deer Valley ski resort in 2016. In a lawsuit filed in 2019 — in which he initially demanding $3.1 million before amending his lawsuit — he claims the alleged ski accident left him with “traumatic brain injury, four broken ribs and other serious injuries.”
However, Paltrow refused to type on him and said that it was Sanderson that caused the ski crash. In the 2019 lawsuit, she accused him of “stabbing her in the back” and that he blamed her for the collision “with an aim to take advantage of her fame and wealth.” She sought a symbolic $1 as well as attorney fees. Sanderson has denied the allegations.
