Half-Sister To Champion Corniche Debuts At Del Mar

Bred by horseman Bart Evans in partnership with Jeff and Chiquita Reddoch’s Stonehaven Steadings, LLORONA (Mendelssohn) makes her first start for trainer Richard Mandella. Evans and his son Robert, bought out the bay filly from the Reddoch’s during the ’21 Keeneland September Sale for $750,000.
From Evans’s own trainee GISP and MGSW Wasted Tears (Najran), Llorona is a half-sister to Champion 2-year-old Corniche (Quality Road). Speedway Stables’s $1.5 million OBS April buy was also bred by Evans and Stonehaven. TJCIS PPS

Courtlandt Farms purchased Whocouldaskformo (Uncle Mo) for $450,000 at last year’s Keeneland September Sale. Bred by Summer Wind Equine, the dark bay filly is out of Midnight Belle (Bernardini), who is a half-sister GI Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic heroine Unrivaled Belle (Unbridled’s Song), the dam of two-time Champion Unique Bella (Tapit). Whocouldaskformo debuts for Shug McGaughey alongside fellow firster and workmate, Very Practical (Practical Joke). TJCIS PPS
