Hawk Eye Episode 5 is now airing on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar. If you’re still reeling from the barrier-free rooftop fight from the previous episode, don’t worry. This episode is all about more revelations, some known, some rumored, and some, ah, King-size. We get a lot of Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, when she finally comes face to face with Kate Bishop – although not quite in the way you might imagine. We also see Clint Barton aka Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), who is forced to wear an old suit to take care of some things. The episode begins with a big reveal that is sure to keep anyone waiting with a gasp for the finale of a light-hearted yet exciting season. Hawk Eye.
Let me assure you, Hawk Eye New promising episode 5. The promise of a new Black Widow and a new Hawkeye has been around for a long time, but this time we’ll see the possibility of a new ally and a whole new MCU villain. As it turns out, however, he may not be entirely new to devoted fans of the Marvel movies and TV shows. However, things are expected for Marvel fans as the final episode of Hawk Eye play outside.
Hawk Eye episode 5 – titled “Ronin”, directed by Bert & Bertie and written by Jenna Noel Frazier – begins with the voice of Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) as she asks Yelena Belova (Pugh) to brainwash all of the characters. Black Widow agents around the world with the help of a syngas that acts as a “clinical anti-subjugation agent.” Viewers may remember this from the movie Black Widow (Review) from the beginning of this year. Set in 2018, Hawk Eye Episode 5 chills out as Yelena and Widow’s colleague Sonya attempt to break into the house of another Widow, Ana, as they attempt to use chemicals on her. Turns out, she wasn’t brainwashed after all, and she just loved making money by taking out assassination targets.
When Ana and Sonya started chatting about Natasha, Yelena apologized and went to the bathroom. Without a word of warning, she’s burned – which all MCU fans woefully recognize thanks to Thanos’ snap. Avengers: Infinity War. As for Yelena, she turned to dust for less than a second before coming back to life. However, five years have passed and she comes out of the bathroom to see Ana with her husband and their adopted daughter.

This was the first time we experienced the blip from the point of view of one of the victims, and it really lasted only a moment for a blind person. It’s a dramatic way to show off a giant 5 year time jump without wasting too much time. The scene ends with Yelena asking Ana about Natasha’s whereabouts. If you have seen post-credits scene of Black Widow, you learned that Yelena was spying on Clint, thinking he murdered her sister Natasha, spurred on by Contessa Valentina (Julia Louis-Dreyfus). This brings everything full to the rooftop fight Hawk Eye episode 4, where Yelena is briefly revealed to Barton and Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld).
Hawk Eye Episode 4 Summary: A Watch, Barton’s Wife, and an Assassin
The fifth episode begins with a battle-scarred Kate returning home to her mother Eleanor (Vera Farmiga). Seeing her daughter’s dire condition, Eleanor asked, “Does Clint think you’re a superhero?” Kate was clearly shaking, as she said, “No, neither do I.” She told Eleanor that Clint was protecting her and asked her to stay away from him, which is exactly what he did in the final episode, thinking that a Black Widow agent was after him and Kate should avoid it. away from him for her own safety. Kate tells Eleanor that she and Clint have found a lot of accusations about Eleanor’s new partner Jack Duquesne (Tony Dalton), who is also the CEO of the dubious Sloan Limited.
In the next scene, we see an apparently injured Maya (Alaqua Cox) being treated by her friend Kazi (Fra Fee). Maya tells Kazi about a masked figure that appeared in the rooftop fight, but she doesn’t know who that person is.
Next, we see Kate return to her apartment cum hideout, where she and Clint have faced off against the Tracksuits earlier in the seasons. Surprise, Surprise! Yelena was waiting for Kate in the dark. However, she doesn’t seem to want to kill Kate and is rather nonchalantly preparing a plate of mac-and-cheese. She explains to the completely confused Kate that she doesn’t want to kill her on the rooftop. She just wants her out of the way.

Yelena says she knows everything about Kate, from her deceased father to her college GPA. Tired of fighting in the bushes, Kate asked Yelena, “Are you in New York to see Clint Barton?” “No, no,” Kate replied simply, “I came here to kill him.” She eventually suggests that she was hired by someone to kill Clint, convinced that he killed her sister Natasha (another revelation to Kate). “Blood follows him, you can wrap around the entire world,” Yelena’s hatred for Clint is pretty clear here.
However, Kate tries to protect Clint. “He’s not perfect, nobody’s perfect. But, he’s so good.” Instead, she asked Yelena if she should dig deeper into who asked her to kill Clint in the first place. Seemingly unconvinced, Yelena then went out in Black Widow style through the window, asking Kate to stay away from her.
Hawkeye Episode 3 Summary: For Echo and Ronin, It’s All About Family
Meanwhile, Clint shelters in the apartment of LARPer Grill (Clayton English), apparently in need of medical attention herself. Grills informs Clint that his and Kate’s new outfits are ready (as discussed in the previous episode), but Clint doesn’t want to see them yet and falls asleep on the sofa.
When Kate returns home again, she finds that her mother took her advice and Jack is pursued by the police to investigate some erroneous tax returns. Jack doesn’t seem worried at all, and tells Eleanor that he’s been framed, and that he’ll be “back in a flash” for her Christmas party.
At the midpoint of Hawk Eye episode 5, we see Clint visit the New York location where the Avengers first gathered, over a decade ago. He stood in front of the Avengers memorial, took off his headphones to drown out the noise, and talked to Natasha. No, Scarlett Johansson isn’t here, because Clint only talks to her as a friend who might recall a deceased friend.
Clint regretfully said he repeated the moment of her death over and over. Referring to her sacrifice (as seen on Avengers: Endgame), he said “I try my best every day to earn what you gave me. I miss you.” Then, with anticipation, he said, “I’m so sorry for what I’m about to do,” and stepped into the crowd.
Kate, ignoring Clint and Yelena’s warnings to “stay away”, tries to contact Clint by waking him up. And keep calling him until the message box fills up. Clint, in the meantime, sends Maya a message via Tracksuits: “Maya, see me tonight, where you first met Ronin. Alone.”
Clint is also quick to call his wife Laura (Linda Cardellini) and update her with the latest developments. He said, “If I don’t wrap this up tonight, it’s only a matter of time before the big guy gets involved.” What is he going to do? And the “big man” mentioned here is none other than Kingpin? We don’t know yet.
Hawk Eye Episode 3: Is Maya’s Uncle Wilson Fisk From Daredevil?
We went to Maya to wait for Clint. However, she is not alone in following instructions, as Kazi and the Tracksuits are ready to ambush anyone who comes. Clint, dressed in a Ronin suit, quickly knocks everyone down in a way that makes even Batman proud. We also see a fully costumed Ronin in action for the first time since Avengers: Endgame and glimpses since.
After a brief fight between Maya and Ronin, she is overpowered. This is where Ronin reveals himself to be none other than Clint. He says it was Maya’s boss who arranged her father’s death at Ronin’s hands, as Clint was exposed by an informant working for Maya’s boss at the time. Hearing no more, Maya angrily tried to kill Clint, but he was saved in time by an arrow flying from Kate. Kate helps rescue Clint. Her vacation plan? Uber!
Meanwhile, Kazi arrives to check on Maya. Reflecting on the new revelations, Maya asks Kazi why he wasn’t present at the meeting where his father was murdered? Kazi looked suspicious. He mumbled that he didn’t know there was a meeting at all. Maya doesn’t seem to believe him and rides her motorbike. Does she trust Clint? Will she team up with Clint and Kate? Crossed fingers!
Hawk Eye Review: Are Marvel’s Cool Christmas Series Too Light?
On the Uber ride back to the safe house (which turned out to be Grill’s apartment), Kate tells Clint that the Black Widow they fought with is actually Yelena, Natasha’s sister. We cut to the climax: Yelena is seen following Eleanor. She quickly sent a message to Kate, letting her know that she had found out who had hired her.
“Eleanor Bishop,” the text read. “Think you deserve to know.”
Yelena then sent a video to Kate, showing her mother interacting with none other than the Kingpin herself. From the blurry thumbnail you can tell that Kingpin is being played by none other than Vincent D’Onofrio, from Netflix’s the show is now cancelled, Daredevil.

Does this mean that Disney is finally bringing back its hitherto overlooked superheroes from Marvel Comics? Or will this be another red herring like the return of Quicksilver and the X-Men on WandaVision? We’ll have to wait to find out in Hawk Eye Volume 6, released next Wednesday, December 22nd.
And, before you ask, there’s no post-credits scene on Hawk Eye episode 5.
