Infosys Arm to buy Singtel’s Malaysia Delivery Hub
New Delhi:
IT major Infosys on Wednesday said its subsidiary, Infosys Consulting, is acquiring Singtel’s delivery hub in Malaysia.
The cost of the transaction was “up to S$6 million, including net asset value, subject to customary closing adjustments,” Infosys said in a regulatory filing.
“As part of a strategic partnership, Infosys is acquiring 100% equity of Singapore Telecommunications Limited (Singtel) delivery hub in Malaysia – Global Enterprise International Malaysia Sdn Bhd to strengthen Infosys’ presence in Malaysia, a strategic sales and delivery hub in Southeast Asia for global customers,” it said.
The move also aligns with Infosys’ long-term strategy for the media, media and technology (CMT) industry that includes a platform-driven transformation in customer experience and service to customers, it added.
Established in 2013, Global Enterprise International Malaysia Sdn Bhd (GEIM) is a subsidiary of Singtel and is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It acts as a distribution hub to provide customer experience and technology services to Singtel. Its revenue reached 67.4 million Malaysian Ringgit in the fiscal year ending March 2021.
