HOME Launches New Summer Menu – Here’s What We Tried
The scorching summer has begun across the country. As rising temperatures and weather drain our energy, we seek some respite in food and drink. Seasonal favorites will soon find their way onto our palates, providing us with a much-needed boost of hydration while also stimulating our taste buds. If you are looking for a new place to try this summer, HOME is the place to be. A classy restaurant located on the third floor of Ambience Shopping Mall, Vasant Kunj, HOME also serves as a PVR lounge and a social and live entertainment club. Their new summer menu is all about seasonal local ingredients from home-grown artisan brands, with options for every palate.
Chef Mayank, Chef Harpal and Chef Saito have conceived the new summer menu for HOUSE. They have combined European cooking techniques, avant-garde Indian culinary experiences and bold Japanese flavors into a single menu. So you can choose from diverse and different cuisines from French to Japanese, Mediterranean to even Indian!
For starters, we tried the Plantain Shami Kebab Taco, where the Raw Mango Tartare element really stood out. Followed by Truffle Pate with Parmesan cheese and apricot pickles. The chefs also served us a handpicked assortment of Dim Sums that are gluten-free and flour-free, and also feature summer elements like water chestnuts stuffed inside. We also enjoyed the Avocado and Green Mango Tartare topped with Green Mango Sorbet – a refreshing treat and ideal for summer!
For main course, we came to enjoy a hearty dish from Tibet – Vegetable Ema Datshi. A pleasant stew made with Yak cheese, greens and chili oil and paired with Tingmo, it was certainly a satisfying end to our meal. If you like a taste of Europe, we would also recommend Saffron and Lotus Mantis with tomato butter, chives and garlic cream. Our meal ended on a sweet note with Apple Bebeinca with Coconut Milk and Almond Milk Gelato.
