“I’ll Defeat Tank’s F***”
Via Craig Daly: Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero looked like a superstar in Wednesday’s game, vowing to knock out ‘regular’ WBA lightweight champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis this Saturday, May 28, in their main match on Showtime PPV.
Rolly (14-0, 12 KOs) says he’ll take down Tank Davis (26-0, 14 KOs) on his way to knock him out to claim the WBA lightweight title.
When Rolando was asked if he’d be grateful for the opportunity to challenge Gervonta for his 135-lb WBA title, he shot back, saying that Tank should be the one who feels happy because he’s doing it. work for him by promoting the war all by himself. Rolly said Tank “can’t even talk.”
If Rolly comes through with his knockout prediction, it will be a huge win, leading to him becoming a PPV attraction in his own right. Obviously there will be a rematch, which will sell tons of PPV purchases, and make huge money for Tank and Rolly.
Gervonta surprised the media today by saying he may be re-signing to Mayweather Promotions.
That surprised everyone because in the past two weeks, Tank has said that this is his last fight with Mayweather Promotions. Now it seems he is considering staying with them.
“I’ll go in and beat F*** out of the Tank,” said Rolly Romero. “That was my only game plan. I was built for this. Obviously, Tank is not built for this. He can’t even say a word,” Rolly said in response to being told how relaxed he seemed this week.
“I should be pound-for-pound #1. F*** everyone else,” Rolly continued. “Is that an important question? Devin Haney is the most boring boxer in the whole world, but f*** Devin Haney.
“Oh, he’ll be knocked out in one round,” Rolando said as he predicted the Battle of the Tanks.
“Yes, he was knocked down in the gym so many times. She’s wobbly, knocked down, all kinds of things, man,” Rolly said when asked if he’d seen Gervonta get knocked out in the match. Like I said, it’s all bad. I feel bad for him.
“He should appreciate me. I’m doing his job for him, and the mother needed money because he broke his virginity. He lives a full-time salary to pay his salary.
“I beat him a second time,” Rolly said of the rematch clause in his contract with Tank. “If I had to fight him again, I would knock him out a second time. I don’t give af***,” said Rolly.
