IPL 2024: Mumbai Indians sign Harvik Desai to replace Vishnu Vinod
Indians in Mumbai (MI) have signed the Saurashtra goalkeeper Harvik Desai to replace the keeper batsman Vishnu Vinod for the rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024).
Vishnu Vinod has been ruled out of IPL 2024 due to a forearm injury.
30-year-old Vishnu suffered an injury to his left forearm. Vishnu, who featured in three games in IPL 2023, has been retained by Mumbai Indians this season. Despite being extremely talented, Vinod could only manage 37 runs in his three outings in the last IPL season.

The 24-year-old Harvik has a century in all three formats and was part of the Indian U19 team that won the 2018 World Cup. Harvik scored the winning goal for India in the 2018 U19 World Cup final. .
Harvik made his domestic debut across formats in the 2018-19 season and averaged over 30 with a healthy strike rate of 134.17 in T20.

This will be Desai's first time participating in the IPL. Desai has played 27 T20 matches, 40 List A matches and 46 first-class matches for Saurashtra.
