Italy
Italy will be competing in an unorthodox checkerboard-patterned shirt that makes up their emblem Azzuri blue against the tonal blocks of dark hand-painted roses. The red, green and white colors of the Italian flag are represented on the slim tricolor collar, complementing the modernized Italian Football Federation (FIGC) badge – introduced in October – on the chest.
Iceland
The Iceland football kit is similar to the men’s kit in that it consists of a simple blue sole accented by a wider, darker blue stripe running vertically from the coat of arms, as well as a Triangular red collar button. The key difference, however, is that the stripes are not a solid block of color and are instead made up of the Liberty floral print found on Puma’s designs for the firm’s women’s Euro suits.
Shirt
The bright red Austria jersey features subtle hems that are inspired by a design created using wide bands of the Freedom rose print. An oversized, contrasting Austrian Football Federation (OFB) badge completes the look with the manufacturer’s branding also moved from the right side of the chest to sit above the badge.
Switzerland
The Swiss jersey appears to be covered in a camouflage pattern, but upon closer inspection, the darker red spots are made up of the Freedom flower design. A simple white V-neck provides a contrast, along with the two badges always found on the Swiss national team kits – of the country’s football association and of the flag. of that country.
Boots
In addition to producing custom kits for the four countries at the Women’s Euro 2022, Puma has also created two special versions of the boots designed specifically for female players to wear during the tournament.
Both sparkling in pristine white, the Puma Future and Puma Ultra Ultimate boots have been plated in gold with a bespoke Liberty Rose design, which can be found wrapped around the heel.
Demand for soccer shoes and women’s apparel has increased in recent years, with research showing that Women’s tennis players are at risk of a variety of lower extremity injuries when competing in shoes designed primarily to fit men’s feet..
Now, sports manufacturers have begun to recognize the need to develop and manufacture apparel – from jerseys and shoes to training wear – that is clearly designed with the needs of female athletes in mind. .
“Women’s football has always been a priority for Puma,” said Marco Mueller, head of team sports management for the German brand. “For this summer’s big tournament, we’ve partnered with Liberty to produce our own set of accessories for our female athletes to wear on the biggest stage.”
