With the ICC 2022 Men’s T20 World Cup scheduled to be held in Australia, connoisseur Chris Gayle has made a big announcement as to whether he will be in the showdown event for the West Indies. Speaking to ESPNCricinfo, Gayle announced that he will be traveling to Australia for the tournament but that it could be more of a spectator than a player. The 42-year-old also hinted that fans may never see him play for the West Indies in international cricket again. When asked if he would be in Australia for the tournament, Gayle’s first response was hilarious as he mocked the interviewer.
He quips, “For what? Dance?”
“One way or another, I’ll be in Australia. A little extra effort. Sit in the stands, take a deep breath, and say Hello guys, I’m here. I’m not leaving. So, I’m looking forward to it,” he said.
Revealing his future plans, he continued, “Can’t believe you’ll see me play for the West Indies again in an international cricket match”.
