Kambosos, Teofimo & Lomachenko top 3 Boxing News 24
Via Sean Jones: Ring Magazine put out their updated lightweight rankings and featured George Kambosos Jr. as their champion, followed by Teofimo Lopez Jr. in 1st place and Vasily Lomachenko in 2nd place.
Kambosos is a weak champion and will likely hold that position long enough for a cup of coffee before being dethroned by Devin Haney or Vasily Lomachenko.
Lomachenko could spoil the party for Kambosos
Kambosos Jr’s recent urging Haney to sell off some of his high-priced jewelry collections to raise money for the two fighters Desperate wrote it all.
After seeing that post, Sean Jones viewed it as a possible fact on behalf of Kambosos, who may have been unhappy after seeing offers made by Haney’s promoter, Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn. .
Kambosos asking Haney to start selling his jewelry collection is a red sign that things are not puzzling right now.
Kambosos feels that there are four “Beautiful belt” will mean a sudden gust of wind for him. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case when Kambosos urges Haney to start selling his jewelry.
The problem is, Kambosos doesn’t have much time to negotiate the fight with Haney because Lomachenko promoter, Bob Arum, is pushing the WBO to make him mandatory. Once that happens, the Kambosos will need to fight Lomachenko and hope that the money goes well.
Ring Magazine’s slightly updated rankings:
Champion: George Kambosos Jr
#1. Teofimo Lopez
#2. Vasyl Lomachenko
#3. Devin Haney
#4. Gervonta Davis
#5. Ryan Garcia
#6. Isaac Cruz
#7. Jojo Diaz
#8. Jorge Linares
#9. Richard Commey
#10. Javier Fortuna
At issue is whether Kambosos (20-0, 10 KOs) should be considered the champion in the ring at lightweight, given how sick and underweight Teofimo was last November.
Even with Teofimo died from the weight and was injured due to a tear in his esophagus, he nearly knocked Kambosos out in the tenth round. As for me, I don’t consider Kambosos worthy of a ring leader.
I rate Kambosos much less than the top spot because he looked underwhelming in the only two rounds where Teofimo showed energy in the second and tenth rounds.
With Teofimo (16-1, 12 KOs) and his father saying he’s now 140, he shouldn’t be included in the Ring Magazine charts at 135.
Have you seen what Teofimo looks like after Drain from 157 lb to achieve weight 135 for the battle of Kambosos Jr. on November 27th Teo finished at a light level and now he will run at 14o.
As big as Teofimo, he should be fighting in the base middleweight at 154.
Even that weight might not be right for him since we’re still talking nearly 20 lbs of water and muscle weight that Teofimo would need to lose to reach his 140 lb limit.
It won’t be a piece of cake for Teofimo to lose that amount of weight every time he fights at 140, and Sean Jones wouldn’t be surprised if we soon see Teo forced to move to 147.

Sean Jones doesn’t rate Kambosos better than the vast majority of top lightweight athletes, but he is superior to Ryan Garcia. You have to give Kambosos that.
Ryan will likely disappear after he fights Isaac Cruz in April, and he will be the afterthought in the eyes of boxing fans.
