Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy producer Shinji Hashimoto retires after 30 years with Square Enix
Game producer Shinji Hashimoto announced today that he is leaving Square Enix after nearly 30 years with the company.
Hashimoto began working at Square Soft in 1995 and was the brand director for both Final Fantasy and Heart Kingdom Franchising.
“Thank you everyone. I will retire on May 31 (Tuesday) today. During my tenure, I am very grateful to all of you in different fields,” Hashimoto announced on Twitter. “From now on, I want to support you as a Square Enix fan. I’m really grateful to you.”

I also posted a video message on Twitter, saying he enjoys his time traveling the world and attending different types of events. However, in recent years, he has stopped going to them due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although he wanted to visit everyone after announcing his retirement, he had to choose a video message instead.
Even though he leaves Square Enix, he will continue to enjoy video games and play Square Enix titles. Also, Hashimoto said that if someone saw him in public at events, he would be happy to take pictures with them.
