Landslide in the South Brazilian people Paraná state killed at least two people and left dozens missing on Wednesday, according to officials.
CNNE reported that a landslide that brought heavy rainfall affected Brazil’s BR-376 highway. Authorities believe the mud buried six trailers and 15 vehicles on the highway when it toppled over a 200-meter (656-foot) stretch of road.
A representative for the fire department told local media they estimate between 30 and 50 people may be missing.
The representative added that military police, firefighters, civil defense squads and rescue dogs are assisting with rescue efforts and cleaning up the embankment.
Heavy rains also cause flash floods and flash floods in other coastal cities.
680 people and more than 500 homes were affected, some destroyed, according to official figures.
