Little Bear misses the rest of the season after failing
Group 1 winner and ‘Rising star TDN’ Little Bear (Ire) (No, never) will be sidelined until the new year to give the foal “more time” to recover from a rear foot injury, according to trainer Aidan O’Brien. Right before the G1 Phoenix S win.
“Everything is fine and we just want to leave him this year,” said O’Brien Car racing on Tuesday. “He’s the perfect guy, there’s nothing to bother about him, we just don’t want to rush back to him. We had to give him plenty of time to get over it. We feel rushed for him [G1] Dewhurst [S. in October] not the right thing to do.
“Everything is perfect for him and we feel that giving him more time is the right choice.”
Little Big Bear graduated from Naas at a second inquest in May, and later added to S. Listed Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot. In a G3 Anglesey S. match on July 16 in Curragh, he drew 4 3/4 length, and he won Phoenix S. 7 length on August 6. His defeat forced him must have missed the G1 National S. last Sunday.
