An aspiring country singer and avid fan of MAGA sets out to defend Donald Trump’s honor, but is instead handcuffed.
North Carolina insurance salesman and semi-professional musician Stephen Jike Williams, who made as simple as Jike Williams, vowed to execute fact-checkers for “defaming and slandering” the former president. When the FBI showed up on his doorstep, Williams threatened the life of a female agent tasked with investigating, according to a criminal complaint first obtained by The Daily Beast.
Then, days later, he followed up with additional death threats on TikTok, in a video titled simply “Fuck the FBI,” the FBI said.
Williams, 42, is now charged with threatening to kill a federal law enforcement officer and transmitting interstate threats. The complaint against him, which was unsealed Friday in North Carolina federal court, says Williams was furious with, in various ways, the “stolen” 2020 election, mandate vaccinations, his TikTok account is suspended, and libertarians promote “anti-Trump propaganda.”
Williams’ court-appointed attorney, Corey D. Buggs, did not respond to The Daily Beast’s request for comment.
Williams’ troubles began with a September 18 email to Good Information Funda left-wing nonprofit founded after the 2020 election to combat misinformation and misinformation.
“We, according to the laws of the constitution, order you to cease and desist from all acts of defamation and slander of Maga. [sic] Republicans and Donald Trump,” the message read, according to the complaint. “This is Betrayal an act of war and we will treat you accordingly. You have until [sic] At the end of the month print a copy of the whistle blower or I will personally close you.
The email continued: “Murder action will be necessary if any physical detention is taken while I close you. Go peacefully or your children will forget who you are.”
On September 19, attorneys for the Good Information Foundation forwarded the email Williams allegedly sent from his personal account to the FBI. Agents at the Washington Field Office sent the department’s investigative assessment to the department’s Greensboro Resident Service Office for follow-up, the complaint states.
On October 3, “a female FBI agent… and a male Special Forces Officer” — that is, a local police officer appointed to assist with federal investigations — “attempted to interview consult Williams at his residence,” it explained.
According to the filing, the couple was wearing plain clothes and appeared in a car without a license plate. As they pulled into the driveway, Williams jumped off the front porch and ran toward the car.
“Why are you on my property?” Williams shouted, according to the complaint.
The agent showed Williams her login information, which was “instantly generated.” [him] was very angry, and he started shouting that the Justice Department and the FBI had hired a Russian agent to steal the election,” it wrote.
Williams continued to scream into the car window, saliva hitting the agent sitting inside, the complaint continued, adding that the task force officer had “advised Williams to stop spitting on” the agent. .
“Williams backed down and continued to be angry and hostile,” the complaint states. “Williams called [the agent] a ‘bitch’ many times and declared [the task force officer] should be arrested [the agent] and executed her for treason and rebellion. Williams declares [the agent]’I will hang out with you.'”
When the two warned Williams that he could face criminal charges for threatening a federal agent, he is said to have started screaming repeatedly, “Get off my property!”
The agent and task force officer left without interviewing Williams about the threatening email to the Good Information Foundation, according to the complaint.
On October 6, the FBI agent, who has name adjusted in complaint for her safetyA separate filing revealed, updated an employee at the Good Information Foundation with the news of the meeting with Williams being canceled a few days earlier.
During the call, the representative “was learned that Williams’ email… was in response to a TikTok video made by a social media influencer that had been asked by the Good Information Foundation to create anti-Trump rhetoric. ,” the complaint states. “In the video, the influencer revealed that the Good News Foundation is paying influencers to post videos and asking them to use pre-established arguments, one of which the The Good Information Foundation representative was unable to provide any practical assistance.”
The employee told the representative that the foundation did in fact use “an outside company to hire social media influencers to create videos that align with their credentials and beliefs about the former President.” Donald Trump,” the complaint continued.
According to the complaint, they received “multiple emails” in response to TikTok videos, but “the most serious” of Williams’ emails. (“The influential person” in question appears to be a lawyer in September stated that he was offered $400 by The Good Information Foundation for an anti-Trump Instagram post.)
On October 7, the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center received a tip from a person identified only in the complaint as “JK.”
“JK reported that they watched a TikTok video in which a male subject threatened to kill FBI agents,” the complaint reads, noting that JK provided a link to the offending clip.
Williams posted the video titled “Fuck the FBI,” in response to the office’s visit to his home a few days earlier, according to the federalists. In it, he reiterated Trumpian claims about the FBI being “corrupt” and said that “all agents are considered ‘soldiers of the enemy'”.
“I don’t play with the damn FBI,” Williams is said to have said in the two-minute eighteen-second video. “They’ve been told, if you step foot on my damn property, I’m not going to sit there and talk to you. I’m gonna smash your head with those damn .308s, man. I’m going to kill every one of you, load you into my car and drive you back to headquarters and get the damn job done… They’re completely out of control. Stand up to them, fight them, shoot them as soon as they see you.”
In a series of videos that followed, Williams boasted of having “kicked” [the FBI] off the field,” and detailed his shooting skills. He also supports the “new world order and says he is saddened that one of his TikTok accounts has been suspended.
“I would shoot dead FBI agents, CIA agents, and any federal law enforcement agent working for Joe Biden or anyone like that. [German economist and World Economic Forum founder] Klaus Schwab… Australian police, any of them,” Williams said in the video, according to the federal government. “Execute those bastards immediately. If they want to reduce the damn population, reduce the population surname.”
Williams continued, complaining that the government wants to “disarm us,” as well as people’s “ability to communicate,” and that a “purge” of citizens is underway. (This isn’t true, according to Second Amendment experts.) He threatened to assassinate Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla and asked why he wasn’t allowed to show his rifle on TikTok but… “they’ll show you a syringe that kills babies in their sleep.” (This is not true, according to medical experts.)
He ends the video by encouraging viewers to “Fight it, man. Fight!”
Williams was arrested on Friday and held pending a hearing on November 23. If convicted on both counts, he faces more than a decade in prison.
