MakeMyTrip Announces NFT Collection Celebrating Popular Travel Destinations in India
MakeMyTrip, the popular Indian travel agency, has decided to launch limited edition non-fungible tokens (NFTs), artwork which the company claims has been conceptualized and designed Designed to celebrate some of the popular and unexplored tourist attractions in India. The company says NFTs are meant to give travelers the opportunity to own digital collections of their favorite destinations. The first batch of these artworks will have landscapes of Goa, Ladakh, Orissa, Himachal, Kashmir, Kerala, Meghalaya, Rajasthan and Andamans in them.
Conceptualized and designed by AI Bots, an online community of digital artists, each artwork has been designed using Generic Adversarial Network (GAN)a tool that requires creators to upload several images and train AI algorithms to generate a realistic depiction of the final artwork.
Priced up to Rs. 14,999, MakeMyTrip has launched 25 tokens per artwork, available for grabs on a first come, first served basis. Mined on the Polygon blockchain, NFT can be accessed through the MakeMyTrip website and purchased on ngageN starting March 9.
MakeMyTrip announced it will channel the proceeds from the sale of these NFTs to support projects focused on promoting sustainable tourism in the country.
