A man was shot dead at a wedding in Madhya Pradesh yesterday, allegedly by right-wingers. Police said three men were arrested in the case. A protest was held in the city last night. Police have yet to confirm whether the men belong to any right-wing groups.
Around 2pm yesterday, chanting “Jai Sri Ram”, the men stormed into the Mandsaur wedding ceremony, organized by the self-proclaimed deity Rampal.
Amit Verma, a senior officer with the local police, said armed men had gathered forces on allegations that such weddings were held “illegally”.
