Maple Leafs-Red Wings game delayed 30 minutes due to winter weather
Puck drop of Sunday’s game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Detroit Red Wings has been delayed half an hour, the NHL announced.
Originally scheduled to start at 7 p.m. ET, the game is now expected to start at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Terry Koshan of the Toronto Sun reports that the delay is due to the winter weather impacting the Red Wings’ travel plans.
It’s the second game of the season between the two clubs, but the first on North American soil. The Maple Leafs won the first meeting 3-2 back on Nov. 17 during the NHL’s Global Series in Sweden.
The game can be seen at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
