Mark Ingram is inactive when New Orleans Saints shorthand vs Zack Moss-less Buffalo Bills
NEW ORLEANS – New Orleans Saints run again Mark Ingram II and Buffalo Bills run again Zack Moss both were inactive for Thursday night’s game in the Caesars Superdome.
Ingram is on the suspect list because of a knee injury, while Moss is a healed scratch.
Ingram’s absence is another significant blow to New Orleans’ depleted attack since his backyard teammate. Alvin Kamara was ruled out Wednesday with his own knee injury.
Second year professional Tony Jones Jr. will likely act as the Saints’ top runner, with veteran RB/WR Ty Montgomery II of those help carry the load. However, it is unclear whether the Saints will use midfield Taysom Hill as part of their running game as he is their only active backup QB (Book of Ian is a healthy scratch).
Kamara has now missed three games because of a knee injury, but he was expected to return soon and was never placed on the bench because of the injury. Ingram also shouldn’t be sidelined long-term as he could have limited training on Wednesday before finally being eliminated.
Jones (5 foot-11, 224 pounds) joined the Saints as an unimproved rookie of Notre Dame last year and earned a spot on their 53-man roster this season ahead of the veteran. Latavius Murray. However, he has only played five games this season because of an ankle injury he sustained in Week 4. He has 25 career shots at 92 yards and four in his career at distance. 10 yards without touching the ball.
The Saints (5-5) also previously ruled out starting the right handle Ryan Ramczyk and finish the defense Marcus Davenport and Tanoh Kpassagnon with injuries earlier this week and they have started to close tight Adam Trautman on injury reserves.
Moss, meanwhile, is inactive in part due to the recent success of the rerun Matt Breida, who had eight makes for 79 yards and two touchdowns total in the past two games. Receiver / return stone wide Isaiah McKenzie also inactive for the first time this season as a healing scratch. Rookie receiver Marquez Stevenson is expected to return to hits and kickoffs on his NFL debut after leaving the reserve team injured this week.
