Matthew Perry recalls leaving here to not look up after heart failure
Matthew Perry is looking back at the medical scare that changed his personal course and professional life.
In his forthcoming memoir, Friends, Lovers and Horroractor — someone who has recently shared the details of his addiction battle—It has been announced that he has landed a role in Adam McKayAll-Star 2021 Netflix Movies, Don’t look up. Based on Rolling Stonethe Friend alum shared that while filming, he spent time at a rehab center in Switzerland.
While there, the actor said he lied to doctors about the severity of his stomach pain in order to get the drug hydrocodone. To relieve the pain, Perry explained that the doctors decided he would need surgery, in which he was given the anesthetic propofol. And since the actor took hydrocodone the night before, it was the combination that made his heart stop.
Perry wrote: “I was shot at 11am. “I woke up 11 hours later at another hospital. Apparently, propofol stopped my heart. In five minutes. It wasn’t a heart attack – I couldn’t stand up – but nothing was beating. “
