Napravnik to Spearhead ‘New Calling Day at the Races’

On Saturday, February 12, retired jockey and jockey advocate Rosie Napravnik will be at the Fair Grounds to lead the “New Vocation Day at the Races”. A four-time local equestrian champion who contributed to the opening of the New Vocations facility in Covington, Louisiana, Napravnik will join host Joe Kristufek on race day live feed to help build awareness, promote success stories and inspire donations to Thoroughbred aftercare.
“Before and after my career in equestrianism, I was exposed to so many other things horses can do, and that is a big part of why I am so passionate about it and why it is so important to me. me,” said Napravnik regarding post-pure care. “I have a lot of experience in other disciplines and I have seen really excellent retired racehorses. I got my first Thoroughbred in 2008 and witnessed his transformation, his potential, his trainability, his eagerness to do something different and learn new things and Please really inspire me. After riding so many of those horses and seeing how much they gave us on the track, it was just something I couldn’t avoid being a part of my life. ”
During the first renewal at Fair Grounds in 2021, a total of $8,198 was raised from fans and industry insiders.
“Rosie is one of our favorites,” said Fair Grounds senior director of racing Jason Boulet. “It’s great that she’s returning to the Fair Grounds to help unravel such an important cause and share her valuable insight with fans. We look forward to building on last year’s success. ”
