New single-player alien horror game announced for consoles, PC and VR
A new game based on the Alien franchise is coming to consoles, PC, and virtual reality platforms, promising a “single-player, one-action horror” experience set in… sci-fi series. 20th Century Games and Survios, the developer behind VR games like Creed: Rise to Glory, Raw dataand Sprint vectorsays that their untitled project will be “an untold story of Aliens” set in the 57-year gap between the events of the original. Alien and the next part, Alien.
The new Aliens game will feature a war veteran whose battle against the Xenomorphs, according to Official website of the game. Survios says its project will build on “the studio’s expertise in creating immersive and immersive gaming experiences”. The game is being built using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5.
20th Century Games and Survios say more details will be revealed at Comic-Con next week in San Diego, at the Alien: Expansion of a Dark and Scary Universe panel on July 21.
Other than that, we don’t know much about the next big Alien game, but it looks like it could satisfy fans of 2014 Aliens: Isolationsingle-player survival horror game (similarly placed between Alien and Alien) from developer Creative Assembly. That studio is currently working on something very different: an over-the-top loot-driven shooter called Hyenas.
Survios’ Aliens game follows the recent announcement of another project set in the franchise, Aliens: Dark Descenta new single-player squad-based action game from Tindalos Interactive.
