#NewInTown: DiGhent Cafe is bringing European flavors to your palate
After nearly two years of shutdown due to the COVID pandemic, India’s restaurant scene is now bustling with activity. Older restaurants are opening new stores, while others are exploring cloud kitchens and delivery-only. In the midst of this new buzz in the industry, a new coffee shop has caught our eye for its food and mission. DiGhent Cafe is the latest addition to Delhi’s vibrant Khan Market. Located right in the heart of the capital, this is DiGhent’s second outpost after the previous successful outlet in Gurgaon’s DLF Phase 4.
At first sight, DiGhent exudes calm and ease. The wooden interior is minimalist and light, complemented by lots of natural light and plants. Bookshelves decorate either side of the large windows and the strong aroma of fresh food immediately makes us feel at ease. While European cuisine is DiGhent’s forte – a quick glance at their menu will reveal options that most Indian diners will be pleased with. So whether you visit for breakfast or lunch, dinner or even brunch – rest assured you’ll find plenty of choice.
The founder, Bal DiGhent, explains that each name on the menu has a story behind his work and foreign visits. Furthermore, DiGhent cafe uses freshly prepared breads and sauces in its menu, sourcing local ingredients to make the dishes more sophisticated!

We start our meal with autographs Krikri D’Amour from the Salad section. The lettuce salad is complimented with orange wedges, pomegranate seeds, shredded goat cheese and almond flakes. Agrodolce sauce alleviates the bitterness from the lettuce leaves and the texture of the salad is extremely reasonable. Next, we took samples Lakenhalle it’s Al Dente whole-wheat pasta in tomato sauce with garlic, basil, parmesan cheese and black olives. The dish is well balanced between cream and taste, and it also comes with a garlic sourdough bread on the side, home made by DiGhent.
From the power supply, we tried the signature Melle Leuw It’s a plate that includes grilled cheese, Cous Cous bell peppers, sautéed grilled vegetables, and barbecue sauce. Yet again, the textures of all the dishes compliment each other perfectly and the sauces are particularly enjoyable. We polished everything right away!
As for desserts, again, we were spoiled for choice. We decided to try the classic Splenter Waffles topped with Belgian chocolate, maple syrup, butter and almonds. NS Kruizen or the next grilled New York cheesecake on our list, which comes with salted caramel sauce on the side. Both sweets are heavenly and a must try!
When the meal was over, we were given a small amount of money to contribute to a charity of our choice or to help with the DiGhent cafe’s mission of working for the less fortunate in society. Dinner with a mission!
So, be a part of the DiGhent community and do your thing along with enjoying some exciting European food.
