Oil prices have skyrocketed. Why didn’t Opec bring them down?
In June 2021, with crude oil demand beginning to recover, Opec+ began gradually increasing supply, bringing an additional 400,000 bpd into the world market. It is now supplying about 2.5 million barrels of oil less per day than it did in the spring of 2020.
