Nintendo has revealed that Paper Mario will be joining the Nintendo Switch Online catalog next week.
Revealed on Twitter. Not all online users have access because you have to register. to the Expansion Pack version of the service to play it.
“Adventure through the Mushroom Kingdom to save Princess Peach from Bowser’s clutches like a paper-thin version of Mario,” Nintendo tweeted. “Paper Mario launches on Nintendo Switch for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members on October 12.”
Originally released in 2000 on the N64, Paper Mario is a Mario-centric spin-off experiment developed by the company. Choosing to ditch the more classic platforming elements of the standard Super Mario series, Paper Mario instead takes our favorite plumber and his friends on a complete, RPG-like adventure. Tuned with turn-based combat. Its popularity quickly grew from there, and today the Paper Mario series has many entries in it.

Here is the official Nintendo description for Paper Mario: “After Bowser stole the Star Rod and kidnapped Princess Peach, Mario plotted to rescue the seven Star Spirits and free the Mushroom Kingdom from Koopa’s rule. As Mario travels from the rainforests of Lavalava Island to the icy peaks of Shiver Mountain, he’ll need all the help he can get. Master the abilities of the seven Star Spirits and other allies join the adventure to aid our hero on the battlefield. ”
As noted above, you must subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, revealed in October. it is a new service level including N64 and Sega Genesis games. One the individual membership of this new tier costs $49.99 while the family membership costs $79.99. If you’re already a standard Nintendo Switch Online subscriber, Nintendo will give you a prorated cost that takes into account the number of months you’ve paid if you want to upgrade to the Expansion Pack.
