Patrick Mahomes Says Andy Reid ‘Stolen Show’ In TV Ad
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Andy Reid probably doesn’t have much of a future in acting, but Patrick Mahomes love the job Chief of Kansas City coach did in his latest State Farm TV commercial.
“I made State Farm ask him first because I was scared,” Mahomes said. “Once they asked him, he came up to me and asked if I wanted him to do it. Obviously I did because I know what kind of personality he has… People don’t look. They see the coach.” They didn’t see how funny he was.
“When I got in there, he really started before me and then I walked in and I mean, he did a great job. I think he stole the show and I was just trying to keep the relationship going. Its State Farm partnership now [because] he is really good. “
In the commercial, Reid used a pen to draw mustaches on players while they were sleeping on the team’s flight. Mahomes approached Reid with a mustache on the wheel and complained, “Coach, it’s happening again.”
With a pen in hand, Reid replied, “I’ll go into this.”
“It’s an interesting thing,” Reid said. “It’s been great to see how people treat Pat. It’s interesting to me to see how that production goes. He does a lot of things like that and that gave me background information. writing about it, literally, to be able to see what he had to go through to put all of this together.
“It was quite exciting – great people were involved there. They obviously reached out and talked to me about it knowing I wasn’t really comfortable doing things like that, but they did it. it’s as comfortable as possible.”
