Paytm Net Loss Grows to Rs 473 Crore in Q7-September, Revenue Up 64%
One97 Communications Limited, operator of digital payment platform Paytm, has announced its quarterly results for July-September for the financial year 2021-22, reporting a net loss of Rs 473 crore on a consolidated basis, compared with a loss of Rs 437 in the corresponding five periods the previous year. Paytm’s operating revenue for the second quarter of the current fiscal year stood at Rs 1,086 crore, compared with Rs 664 crore in the same period last year, marking a growth of 64% year-on-year.
Revenue spiked thanks to 52% growth in total value of non-UPI goods and more than three times growth in financial services and other revenue, according to a Paytm regulatory filing for stock exchanges. today.
The company’s revenue from merchant payments increased 64% to Rs 400 crore, driven by the volume of non-UPI payments in payment gateways and growth in devices. Revenue from payment services to its customers increased by 54% to Rs 353 crore, driven by an increase in the use of non-UPI payments on the consumer platform.
