PlayStation Plus collection disappears in May
Sony is closing PlayStation Plus Collectionrequired PS4 batches that PS Plus subscribers on PS5 can download and play at no additional cost.
In an email sent to subscribers, the announcement said that on May 9, the 19-game collection will disappear and that subscribers have until that date to add the series’ games. this collection to their game library. Sony didn’t provide a reason why it closed the collection, but it also clarified that other PS Plus perks, such as monthly games, would not be affected. Here is the full announcement below:
From May 9, PlayStation Plus Collections will no longer be available as a PlayStation Plus benefit. You can add any title from the PlayStation Plus Collection to your Game Library by May 9 and play it any time in the future with an active PlayStation Plus membership.
The PlayStation Plus game catalog, Monthly Games, and other existing benefits will not be affected by this change.
Thank you for your continued support of PlayStation Plus.
The PlayStation Plus Collection was launched with the PS5 as an added bonus for those owners. In a way, it serves as a mini-version of Xbox’s Game Pass, albeit with only last-gen titles. The collection has remained largely unchanged since 2020, with a few titles joining the list and just Persona 5 removed from last year’s original lineup. The PS Plus Collection currently includes the following titles:
- Batman: Knight Arkham
- Battlefield 1
- blood transfusion
- Call of Duty: Black Ops III: Zombie Chronicles Edition
- Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy
- the day has passed
- Detroit: Be Human
- fallout 4
- Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition
- God of War (2018)
- Notoriety: Second Son
- Last Guardian
- The Last of Us Remastered
- Monster Hunter: World
- Life and death war
- Ratchet & Clank (2016)
- Resident Evil VII: Biohazard
- Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
- Until dawn
Last year, Sony added two premium PlayStation Plus subscription tiers gives those members access to a much larger (and more frequently updated) library of games across multiple PlayStation generations. Premium members can now access most, if not all, of these titles, so perhaps Sony wants to encourage standard PS Plus subscribers to upgrade. Regardless, be sure to grab these games now if you haven’t already before the May 9 deadline stalks you.
