And it marks the return of Lost Zone, the occasional mechanic that completely changes the way players approach the game.

Not so Lost Zone. This is where the cards come in, to never come back…apparently until that round is over. Then you just pick them up. They’re fine. It’s just cardboard.
So while you may have built your deck on a take-back basis, for example, your Energy cards from discard pie, maybe using Brock’s Grit or Dark Patch you can step into your own dark patch this month. Once your opponent banishes your cards to the Lost Zone, it won’t be easy to get them back.
However, you also really want cards in that creepy pile! The cards in the Lost Origin set have a purple and blue pattern around the Lost Zone ability image, which usually gives you extremely powerful attacks, but it’s up to you to already have a certain number of cards. certain in Zone.

An array of games from 2K have been bundled together. You can pay what you want to support the cause, but if you want access to some of the big hits like Borderlands 3, The Bioshock Collection, XCOM: The Ultimate Collection, and Sid Meier’s Civilizatrion VI, you’ll have to pay at least $16. But hey, that’s hardly anything compared to the $663 value you’re getting from all 18 games combined.
Sweet, right? And that means Spit Innocently, usually costing two Water and one Normal Energy, for 110 damage, is suddenly free. Meanwhile, one of the set’s most wanted, Giratina VStar, will deliver 280 damage in one hit, but the consequence is losing two of the attached Energies to the Lost Zone. Or, you might argue, a great way to get some cards in there, and obliterate an opponent’s card.
This means you’re going to see a lot more Energy cards in people’s decks for the next while, now that they’re not nearly so easily retrieved. It’s going to make for interesting times. Right up until November, when yet another SWSH set comes out, Silver Tempest.
