Prashant Kishore again as the Trinamool Jolts Congress in Meghalaya Exodus
Guwahati:
Former Minister Meghalaya Mukul Sangma gave a long list of reasons why he and 11 of the 17 MLAs in the state abandoned the Congress. At first, Mr. Sangma lamented that the National Assembly had failed to function as an effective opposition party.
The announcement by Mr Sangma and the 11 MLAs that they will participate in the Trinamool Congress comes after months of heavy disappointment over the appointment of party colleague Vincent Pala as the head of Parliament for Meghalaya.
Mr Sangma later traveled to Kolkata, where he met Trinamool campaign strategist Prashant Kishor for a “courtesy visit”. However, given the events of last night, that meeting may well serve as a springboard for Mr. Mukul to switch sides.
